Turkey Leg Hut owners Lynn and Nakia Price first introduced Texans to their mouthwatering turkey legs in a parking lot at the Houston Rodeo in 2016. In three short years and with no culinary background, the power couple has turned a hobby and love of cooking into one of the most sought after restaurants in Houston making headlines across the country.
Nakia Price, a Chicago native attended the University of Houston on a basketball scholarship and has her Bachlor of Science degree in Business and minored in Marketing.
Lynn Price, a Houston native, born and raised in historic Third Ward, went to Jack Yates High School, then went on to place baseball at Rice University.
Seeing patrons walk out of the Rodeo hungry and slightly intoxicated, the Price family began to cook in their family parking lot daily. What they thought would be a fun BBQ for the city, turned into something much bigger than they ever could have imagined.
The Houston couple has taken their wildly-popular turkey legs to new heights, expanding their menu to include over seven varieties of fall-off-the-bone turkey legs and a full complement of homemade delicacies, at their first Turkey Leg Restaurant on Almeda Road, in Third Ward.
Lynn and Nakia have three children and reside in the heart of Houston. They plan to continue to expand as they open the Daiquiri Hut and Breakfast Hut in 2020-2021.
